In California, our special election day is November 4th. We will be deciding yes or no on Proposition 50, a crucially important measure.
As you recall, President Trump told Texas Governor Greg Abbott to make 5 new Republican-friendly voting districts. If allowed (they currently are) Republicans will have an almost insurmountable lead.
But California is fighting back. If approved by the voters, Proposition 50 will let us balance Texas’s just-invented new districts.
Question: have you voted? If so, good for you! If you have the time, consider volunteering to help get the Prop 50 message out. It’s not too late! But almost. If you want to help, now is the time.
To volunteer an hour or two — today — go to: https://act.gavinnewsom.com/signup/volunteer-erra/
You might see Governor Newsom there; he is a worker like no other.
If you have not voted yet, of course, please do so legally and immediately. Use the materials provided by the State of California, or stand in line tomorrow — either way is fine.
How are we doing? The odds are strong that Prop 50 will win — but not strong enough to kick back and snore.
Most early voters trend Democratic — but Republicans tend to vote late.
We dare not take anything for granted.
Secondly, we do not want to just win — we want to win big!
Send a message: I am proud to be a Democrat; you should be too. Stand tall; you have much to be proud of.
Are we not the party which invented Social Security, and Food Stamps, and fought for the right to develop a union? If you like time and a half pay, thank a Democrat!
The hour is now. We only get one vote; be sure to use it.
Thanks for your help, take a friend to the polls, remind a neighbor what day it is- and God bless America!
Vote YES! on Proposition 50.
