Democrats  do not just stand with the American majority–  we  are the American majority. And  Republicans?  Where they are—at least for now—is out of step.

Consider three controversies:

The  Environment: Look out the back window to  Florida—two mega-storms in ten days? Can anyone say the climate is not increasingly extreme? Hurricanes and flashfloods, tornados and forest fires:  rivers running dry, or overflowing their banks—and famine caused by drought, as the deadly desert expands.

Environmental  disasters are man-made;  humanity caused the problem, (by over-dependence on fossil fuels), and we must solve it. Some Republicans, however, deny the problem even exists, as  when Former President Donald Trump calls climate change  a “Chinese hoax”.

Tax Equity: some billionaires pay less taxes than you do (Trump paid zero Federal taxes in ten of the  past fifteen years) so it is  hard to  argue the system is  fair.  The Republican suggestion?  Tax the rich even less. This would explode the  National  debt, gut the budget, deny us funds for  good government. How  can we balance the  budget,  if the rich won’t  chip in their  fair share?

Freedom  Rights:    What if overtime pay was against the  law? One of  the goals of Project  20/25* (the  Republican  guide book,  new laws  they  want made) is to roll back overtime rights, and other Union-won benefits.

Freedom rights are at  risk throughout that entire 1,900 page document,  drawn up by the Heritage Foundation,  who gave Trump his list of Supreme Court  Justices.  Project 20/25 suggests laws to take away a woman’s  control of her own body; it  also threatens  birth control, IVF (In Vitro  Fertilization), even  advanced forms of stem  cell research. Republicans are not talking   about these subjects—not now– but  they are not  forgotten:  just set aside, till after the election.

And our President,  for such a time? If  Trump gets in, I fear the worst.  He will seek  dictatorial power. For instance,  one of the  Project 20/25 ideas is  to have all government  officials  sign a letter of resignation  before they begin work.  Then, if Trump does not like them for any  reason, (or no reason at all), he just accepts  their resignation  and  they are  gone.

Our hope is Kamala. If she wins, so do we all.

So…(besides our vote, of course!) what can we do, to elect Kamala Harris to  the White House?

Google “Kamala for President!” They will be  glad to have your help!

You might make phone calls, or put fliers in mailboxes, vital in the last stages of a close race.

Also, if you can,  chip in a couple bucks.  I will do the same.

As Michelle Obama said:

“Do Something!”

I will. I promise to do something helpful—every day– until  November 5th!

We might be the majority; but we still must do the work.
