Folks!

We have until April 18ththis Saturday, to save the California stem cell program, officially titled the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, or CIRM.

Our mission is simple, go to a website:  Help us Qualify – Californians for Stem Cell Research, Treatments & Cures

There will be instructions there, telling you exactly what to do. We need signatures (not many, just a few, if you can send us 2 or 3, that matters!) from you.

Your signatures might literally save CIRM, helping us put a  $5.5 billion renewal bill on the ballot. Because what if we were just 3 or 4 short? That could easily happen, and it would disqualify us.

That renewal bill is called: The California Stem Cell Research, Treatments, and Cures Initiative of 2020.

Its purpose is to fight chronic diseases, like COVID-19, the dread coronavirus—and so much more!!

CIRM has already saved lives, and eased suffering—like the fifty children, who had the “Bubble Baby” condition, frequently fatal: today they are healthy and well, thanks to research funded by CIRM. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. CIRM is fighting for cures for heart disease, paralysis (already patients who were completely paralyzed have regained upper body function), battling cancer which killed my wife Gloria just a few days ago—we must have cures, and that means research dollars, like those which CIRM provided for the past 16 years.

If we do not get enough signatures, our program will literally die. Right now we need about 35,000 more signatures.  We can do it, but we need your help.

So—SAVE CIRM!

Don’t worry, it’s easy.

At the website, print out one long document (16 pages). On the last page is an address block to fill out, with yourself as the signature collector, and then four (just four!) signatures from people in your county. Your next door neighbors, perhaps.

If you have more than four signatures,  just print out another sheet with the spaces for names (you will only need that additional one, or two or however many they are) and staple on that extra sheet, so you now have seventeen pages. Be absolutely sure to include the 16 pages you printed out.

Put all sixteen sheets (or however many you have) into a 9×12 envelope. Put two forever stamps on the envelope, and put it in the mailbox IMMEDIATELY.  Remember, it must be in the mailbox by THIS SATURDAY, April 18th.

Send them to:  Melissa King, Californians for Cures, 660 4th Street, #344 San Francisco, CA 94107

All signature sheets must be postmarked (meaning in the mailbox) by this coming Saturday, April 18th.

Please remember to print out the 16 pages and send them. If those 16 pages are not enclosed, the  signatures will not count.

HELP THE CALIFORNIA STEM CELL PROGRAM HELP YOU—Even if You Don’t Live In the State!

By Don C. Reed

No matter where you live, in whatever state or country, you need the California stem cell program to succeed.

Because chronic disease and disability affects you, or someone you love: not just COVID-19, but also cancer, of which my wife Gloria just died, or the  paralysis which afflicts my son, or heart disease, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, so much more.

Disease spreads rapidly—but so can cure. We need to solve the conditions which hurt our loved ones, not just maintain them in their misery, while we go broke with endlessly-expensive care.

Cure grows—help it happen. Do you support stem cell research for therapies and cures? Do you want to do something that will really help?

The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) is at a crossroads: it can either go forward with an additional $5.5 billion dollars—or it can die.

That choice is up to us. If you want to help, here is how.

Email the following to any California friends who support stem cell research. They can do it easily, with the following directions:

California Residents: Fill out your stem cell funding signature sheets, and postmark them by April 18th

As you know, California stem cell research supporters are trying to get $5.5 billion in new funding for the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM).

But to do that, we need to get on the ballot. That means signature-gathering, from the safety of our own homes. We have about 915,000 signatures already, we need 35,000 more.

Here is how you can help, and it is much simpler than it sounds.

Please go to this URL:  https://caforcures.com/help-us-qualify/

Download the full document there.  It is long, 16 pages single space, but most of it is just background. You only have to fill out just a little bit on one page.

We need your signature, and any others you may be able to provide.  Even if it is just your name alone, that is vital—we do not want to come up short!!!

To send the signatures, (you must send the full 16-page document) you will need a 9×12 envelope and 2 “forever” stamps. Get it in the mail ASAP, so it is postmarked by April 18th.

And that’s it!
