BIDEN, HARRIS, AND THE THEATER THAT FOUGHT

One  of the world’s  most beautiful  movie houses is   the  Grand Lake Theater* in Oakland, California. To enter its plush elegance is to  step back into the glory days of movies: velvet curtains, magnificent pipe organs, Technicolor, Sensurround—and all your  favorite snacks and goodies.

But on the outside of the billboard recently was not just  the usual movie  titles—but a message  from the folks who ran the show. In big bold letters, it read:

“BIDEN PUTS OUR  NATION  FIRST; NOW  ALL PATRIOTS MUST UNITE— TO DEFEAT TRUMP AND PROJECT 20/25”. **

This is  how campaigns are  won–  with people  from  every walk of life,  not  just the political  few.

And what a concise,  well-worded message!

President  Biden did indeed put  our  nation  first, when he  set his career  aside and announced he would not  run again, endorsing vice President Kamala Harris.

The results  were spectacular—volunteer energy through the roof!

Example: challenged by the words of VP Harris,  I  sent a tiny donation—just $25, hardly a  ripple financially–  but within the next hour, I got a phone call, asking if I wanted to volunteer!

That’s how it’s done, folks! Reach out,  make  friends, offer  a place to help.  Maybe some  phone banking? Vice  President Harris, I am told, made over 100 phone calls that first exciting day—not asking us to do anything she would not do herself.

I loved that last great  sentence:

“Now all patriots must  unite, to defeat Trump,  and  Project 20/25!”

Trump we  know. He  wants to be an unchallenged  dictator, like Putin of   Russia. If he wins, everything we value is at risk.

But “Project  20/25” ? ***

This is a 900 page Republican list of  changes they want, like weakening unions, ending  overtime pay, imposing a national ban on abortions– without even exceptions  for rape or incest.

PROJECT 20/25 was  written by the Heritage Foundation—the same group that gave Trump three Supreme  Court   justices– those who overturned Roe  v. Wade. Trump now says he practically never heard of Project 20/25—do you believe him?  I do not.

So  here’s to the Grand Lake Theater, the  sacrifices of  Joe  Biden, and especially Kamala Harris, as she fights to bring change, and make things  right.

May America’s blessings go with her.
